What is the DeSoto CARE Team?

The DeSoto CARE Team is a free community crisis response initiative dedicated to serving residents in DeSoto, TX  experiencing behavioral health challenges, mental health emergencies, and homelessness. As the primary responder for related 911 calls, the team meets people where they are with professionalism, compassion, and dignity.
By prioritizing people over protocol and care over control, the CARE Team works to address the complex realities of crisis situations in a way that promotes safety, stability, and hope. Through equitable, person-centered response, the DeSoto CARE Team strengthens public health and supports long-term well-being for individuals and families in need.
